Over 70 citations issued in speed enforcement operation in Lancaster. Be sure to slow down Antelope Valley!
In 2020, Lancaster suffered 29 fatal traffic collisions and over 800 injury collisions. Speed was a factor in nearly 60% of the fatal traffic collisions. The speed involved in a collision is directly related to the extent of the injury the parties endure.
The Lancaster Traffic Detail along with members of LANCAP and patrol units conducted a speed enforcement operation on Avenue K near Elm Avenue, in the City of Lancaster last week. This operation was part of Lancaster Sheriff's Station's ongoing effort to reduce fatal and injury traffic collisions in the city. The operation resulted in over 70 citations in three hours.
Lancaster Station will be conducting similar enforcement efforts throughout the city in the future and would like to remind motorists to:
*SLOW DOWN
* BE ATTENTIVE AND CELL PHONE FREE
*DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE
The life you save may be a friend, loved one or your own.
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station polices the City of Lancaster, Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, and the unincorporated communities of Antelope Acres, Lake Los Angeles, and Quartz Hill in the Antelope Valley.
