#LASD Major Crimes Bureau Task Force Recaptures LBPD Murder Suspect
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Major Crimes Bureau – Fugitive Task Force investigators, along with the United States Marshal Service-Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force and members of the Long Beach Police Department collaborated on an intensive search for wanted murder suspect, Steven Manzo.
On March 9, 2021, Manzo was released from custody. Our three agencies worked together and spent the next three weeks searching for Manzo. Today, in the city of Buena Park, Fugitive Task Force investigators observed Manzo get into a grey Nissan Sentra with several other occupants.
Investigators followed the Sentra into the City of Cypress, and the Cypress Police Department was contacted. A high risk traffic stop was conducted by Cypress Police Department officers and investigators from the Fugitive Task Force. Steven Manzo was taken into custody without incident.
Manzo was booked back into custody at the Long Beach Police Department where he is being held on $4,090,000 bail. The criminal case involving Manzo is being investigated by the Long Beach Police Department.
The Major Crimes Bureau – Fugitive Task Force works closely with the United States Marshal’s Service – Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force in supporting all Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station’s, as well as other Southern California law enforcement agencies.
