On March 30, 2021, at approximately 8:59 am, West Covina Police Department responded to a call regarding a stabbing that occurred at Gold's Gym (502 Plaza Drive). Prior to the officers arrival, they were informed the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle and two individuals who sustained injuries had gone to a local hospital. Officers patrolling the area were able to locate the suspect in the vehicle in the area of West Covina Parkway and West Garvey Avenue. The suspect was arrested. One victim was released from the hospital and the other is in stable condition.
The suspect, Paul Quintero, 32 years old, was booked for attempted murder with a bail amount of $ 1,000,000.
