Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and detectives with the Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) are currently investigating an assault with a deadly weapon call in which an adult male was wounded.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment to his injuries. The full extent of those injuries are not yet entirely known.

Circumstances of the incident, to include a full suspect and vehicle description, are still being verified by our on-scene personnel. Initial early witness statements were contradictory. The original call for service was received today, Thurs., April 1st, 2021 at approximately 1:05 pm.

We ask members of the public to avoid the area in and around the 1700 block of John St in the unincorporated portion of West Modesto.

Crime scene technicians are still processing and analyzing for evidence.
