Car Vs Pedestrian 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office is investigating a car vs pedestrian crash in Silver Creek Twp. of Cass County, Michigan. This crash occurred on Dixon St, just east of Indian Lake Rd on 04-02-2021 at 0813 Hrs.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene after a vehicle driven by Heriberto Perez, 67 Yrs of Dowagiac, Michigan struck Patricia Amundsen, 68 Yrs of Dowagiac, Michigan while she was standing on the shoulder of the road. Initial investigation shows that Perez went slowly passed a stopped vehicle which was talking to Amundsen. When Perez began his pass, he did not see Amundsen and struck her with the mirror/drivers side of his vehicle. Perez remained on scene along with the witness to the incident. Amundsen was transported by ambulance to Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo for injuries sustained in this crash.
Assisting on scene was Pokagon Tribal Police, Sister Lakes Fire and Pride Care Ambulance.
Alcohol and drugs were not factors in this crash. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
