A fatal traffic collision occurred Sunday evening at Bear Valley Road east of Quinnault Road

INVOLVED PARTY (1): 70-year-old male adult, pedestrian
INVOLVED PARTY (2): 66-year-old male adult, driving a maroon 2015 Chevy Cruze
SUMMARY: On April 4, 2021, at about 8:37 pm, deputies from the Apple Valley Station and emergency personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the area of Bear Valley Road east of Quinnault Road for a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Through preliminary investigation, it is believed the pedestrian was crossing Bear Valley Road. A maroon Chevy Cruze traveled west on Bear Valley Road east of Quinnault Road. The Chevy collided with the pedestrian and came to a stop on the shoulder of Bear Valley Road. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevy sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Investigators from the Apple Valley Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and assumed the investigation.
