All Deputy Sheriff Positions Now Filled While SHERIFF VICTOR HILL Continues To Accept Applications For Waiting List!

At a time when urban jurisdictions are experiencing difficulty recruiting officers to patrol the streets, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office is experiencing just the polar opposite.  As of today, all Deputy Sheriff positions at the Clayton County Sheriffs Office are now filled with a active waiting list of candidates ready to come aboard. The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office has attracted law-enforcement officers not only from agencies around Georgia, but officers and deputies from other states as well  willing to relocate to work for the crime fighting  Sheriff.   Even a former police chief has now joined the ranks at the Sheriff’s Office!

Many believe officers are leaving agencies to come work for Sheriff Victor Hill  because he protects his Deputies from the distractions of the press and politics so that they can concentrate on doing their job well.  As a result the crime rate is trending down in Clayton County which is now 82% African American while jurisdictions across the nation are experiencing a substantial increase in crime.

The Sheriff’s no-nonsense approach to crime is another reason why Officers and Deputies are attracted to the Sheriff’s Office as well.  The Sheriff eliminated all of the “hug a thug” programs believing that the best way to build relationships and in the community is to do the job of crime fighting well.   This builds the “trust” that everything is being done to protect them so that they can enjoy a better quality of life free of gun violence and gangs.

Despite being at full capacity, the Sheriff still wants those interested in joining his team as Deputies to still apply to be on the waiting list.   “We are looking for the best of the best and we are now positioned to be selective to build the best crime fighting team in the world” stated Sheriff Hill. “If their faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, or able to leap buildings in a single bound, I’m interested in their joining us to fight crime!”
