Driver Critical after Crash with Barrier Median

For Immediate Release: April 6, 2021

An Atlantic City woman was critically injured in a crash after her vehicle left the roadway and struck the barrier median Monday afternoon on Absecon Boulevard (US Route 30) just west of the Delilah Road overpass.

At 3:45 PM Officers responded to reports of a crash with entrapment. The driver, whose name is not being released at this time, had small children in the vehicle. The children, ranging from 1 to 3 years of age, sustained minor injuries. The driver had to be extricated by the Absecon Fire Department.

The driver and children were rushed to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center by Absecon Emergency Services.

The investigation is on-going, however, speed is believed to be a contributing factor. Traffic was restricted in the area for approximately 5 hours while the crash was investigated.
