SUSPECT(S): Julio Cesar Lopez, age 50, a transient known to frequent Bloomington
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Saturday, April 3, 2021, Fontana deputies responded to in-progress vehicle theft in the 14600 block of Rancho Vista Drive, Unincorporated Fontana. Upon arrival, they learned a 50-year-old transient, Julio Cesar Lopez, entered the victim’s business and stole a tow truck. Lopez hooked another vehicle to the tow truck and fled with both vehicles. The victim placed his own vehicle in the roadway which caused Lopez to abandon both stolen vehicles at the scene and walk away. A Deputy arrived and found Lopez walking in the area. Lopez was uncooperative and told the deputy he would not go back to jail. Lopez was arrested, identified as the suspect, and booked into West Valley Detention Center.
