Carrie Doud drove into a business located at 300 J. Street, fled the scene, and was later arrested

INCIDENT: VC20001 Hit and Run with Injury, Felony
                     VC23153(a) DUI Causing Injury, Felony
                     VC23153(b) DUI Causing Injury with BAC +.08, Felony

LOCATION: 300 Block of J Street, Needles

SUSPECT(S): Carrie Doud, a 48-year-old resident of Needles

VICTIM(S):  Confidential 

SUMMARY: 
On April 11, 2021, at approximately 6:16 PM, the Colorado River Station / Needles Police received a call of a collision at the Herbarium 66 business located at 300 J Street. A female suspect later identified as Carrie Doud was driving her vehicle north on J Street when she struck the east curb, swerved across the road, and drove over the west curb in front of the Herbarium 66 business. As her vehicle drove over the curb, she struck a customer exiting his vehicle and drove through the wall several feet into the building. Doud backed up and fled the scene in her vehicle. She was followed by a witness who relayed her location to responding deputies. Doud was located driving on Highland Street with four flat tires. A traffic stop was conducted, and it was determined Doud was driving under the influence. She was subsequently arrested for VC23153(a) DUI causing injury, VC23153(b) DUI +.08 causing Injury, and VC20001 Hit and Run Causing Injury, all felonies. She was transported to the Colorado River Station Jail and booked under all three charges. Doud remains in custody pending a court hearing with her bail set at $100,000.00.

The male that was struck by the suspect vehicle received injuries and was transported to CRMC for treatment.

A second person, a female employee of the Herbarium 66, was injured when the vehicle struck the business wall. She was transported to CRMC for treatment.
