Felony OWI 5th Offense
On Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 6:34 p.m., a Middleton Police officer observed a motorcycle driver recklessly driving on Century Avenue near Branch Street in the City of Middleton. The officer initiated a traffic stop of the motorcycle on Century Avenue at Highland Way.
The driver was identified as ​Skyler Nerge, 49 years old, of Middleton. The officer noticed a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Nerge. Nerge submitted to field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested for 5th offense operating while under the influence (OWI), which is a felony. An evidentiary breath sample revealed Nerge’s blood alcohol level was .18. The legal limit in Wisconsin is .08.
Nerge was transported to the Dane County Jail and booked on the tentative 5th OWI charge. In addition, he was cited for operating after revocation of his driver’s license and disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle.
