Document Shredding and Drug Take Back Events this Saturday at EG Town Hall

The Town of East Greenbush along with the City of Rensselaer and Town of Schodack will be hosting the annual document shredding days this year. Each day is open to residents from each municipality. Residents can bring up to three (3) boxes to each of the document shredding days. Residents may be asked for proof of residency.

National Drug Take Back Day
The DEA National Take Back day will be taking place this Saturday, April 24th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at East Greenbush Police Department located at 225 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, New York 12144.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants, and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019. The survey also showed that a majority of misused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
**Please be advised that Document Shredding day will also be taking place at Town Hall for the first half of this event. Shredding will take place in the upper parking lot of East Greenbush Town Hall and the Drug Take Back will be in the lower parking lot. Please use caution in the parking lot.**
