SUBJECT:  Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrest

OFFICERS: Detectives Dean Schoch and Michael Legg
                                   
LOCATION: Rt. 35 North / Logan Road in Ocean Township   
 
ACCUSED: Michael Shane 21 year old male of Neptune, NJ; Michelle L. Smith 20 year old female of Neptune, NJ.
 
NARRATIVE:   On April 19^th, 2021 at approximately 10:15 pm Detectives Dean Schoch and Michael Legg were conducting a narcotics related investigation in the area of Rt. 35 and Logan Road in Ocean Township.  Schoch and Legg made contact with two subjects, later identified as Michael Shane and Michelle L. Smith.  Further investigation revealed that Shane and Smith were in possession of heroin, a weapon, drug paraphernalia and syringes.  Shane and Smith were placed under arrest and transported to HQ for processing.  They were charged accordingly and released on a criminal summons pending an initial court appearance.
