SUBJECT:  Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Narcotics Arrest

LOCATION: Roller Road in Ocean Township   
 
ACCUSED: Robert W. Alequin 52 year old male of Long Branch, NJ
 
NARRATIVE:   On April 16^th, 2021 at approximately 10:30 pm Officer Quinn Schulhafer was on patrol in the area of Roller Road.  He observed a vehicle commit a motor vehicle infraction and conducted a motor vehicle stop.  Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Schulhafer immediately observed two hypodermic syringes in the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Robert W. Alequin.  Officers Michael Abbot, Brett Blank and Samantha Conners arrived in a backup capacity.  Further investigation revealed that Alequin was in possession of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and hypodermic syringes.  Alequin was placed under arrest and transported to HQ for processing.  Alequin was charged accordingly and released on a criminal summons pending an initial court appearance.
