Sheriff’s Office Assists w/Out-of-State Homicide Warrant Service 
In April of 2021, investigators with the Portland Maine Police Department contacted the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department for assistance in apprehending Zachary Phach, who was wanted for a homicide. This crime took place in 2012 where four people were shot with one succumbing to their injuries. On 04/20/2021, detectives with the Special Investigations Unit located Phach in the 2500 block of Riverdale Ave in Modesto. With the assistance of the Stanislaus County SWAT team, Phach was arrested without incident and is currently awaiting extradition to Portland, Maine. Please contact Portland authorities for any questions regarding their original homicide investigation.
