On 4/22/2021 Deputy Haynes and Deputy Clayton were on scene at 482 Morningstar Lake Rd in reference a possible cardiac arrest when a disturbance occurred elsewhere on the property.
After investigating the disturbance, Deputy Haynes was informed that there was possibly a large amount of methamphetamine in a vehicle that was left on the property which was still running and left in gear.
Deputy McIntyre and K9 Dabo were called to the scene to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle and on receiving a trained final response, a search warrant was applied for and secured for the vehicle by Lt. Snyder.
Sgt. Lancaster and Deputy Chapman responded to the scene to assist in securing the scene and to help perform a search of the vehicle.
The vehicle in question was a 2007 Mercedes Benz R350 registered to Carlos Lemuz Gonzalez of Columbia, SC.
The vehicle was in recent possession of Jose Granja-Lopez of Forest City, who had left the vehicle while Deputies were on scene.
After a search of the vehicle, 704 grams of Methamphetamine and 114 grams of Heroin/Fentanyl was seized along with various other items of drug paraphernalia.
Warrants for Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Heroin/Fentanyl and Maintaining a Vehicle were secured on Jose Granja-Lopez, who was later located and arrested. Bond was set at $350,000.00 secured.
