City Issues Emergency Order Conforming with Public Health Protocols on Wearing Face Coverings during League Competitions: Press Release

City Issues Emergency Order Conforming with Public Health Protocols on Wearing Face Coverings during League Competitions

Manhattan Beach, CA (April 23, 2021) - Following the County Department of Public Health’s revision to the Reopening Protocol for Youth and Adult Sports Leagues, the City has issued an Emergency Order specifying that active participants in league competitions are not required to wear face coverings. However, face coverings must be worn when not participating in the competition, such as on the sidelines. See the Emergency Order on the City’s website

Additionally, schools and recreational sports organizers are permitted to have more restrictive policies, where necessary. For more specific guidance and information on safe mask wearing, please visit http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/masks/

The County Department of Public Health continues to monitor safety protocols to keep everyone safe and will make adjustments as needed. Should the County further revise their reopening protocols, please visit the County Department of Public Health website, sign up for the City’s eNotifications and Nixle public safety alerts, and follow the City on Facebook, Twitter, Nextdoor, and Instagram.
