One Injured in Crash 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on April 24,2021 at approximately 2:15pm, his officers are called to investigate a single vehicle personal injury crash on O'keefe Rd north of Dutch Settlement St. in Wayne Twp. Cass County Michigan. Driver 19-year-old Lukas Whitaker of Dowagiac, MI was driving north on O'keefe Rd when his passenger 17-year-old Elyse Sackett of Bronson, MI grabbed the wheel of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway striking a tree. Sackett sustained minor injuries and was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, MI. Seat belts were worn and alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Assisting at the scene was Wayne Twp. Fire Dept. and PrideCare Ambulance.
