On Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at approximately 7:00 am Sunnyvale public safety officers arrested 21-year-old Pedro Rivera-Garcia for possession of child pornography after serving a search warrant at his house in Sunnyvale.
During the search, three laptops and a cell phone were seized. One laptop contained approximately 700 videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children and the suspect’s cell phone contained many similar videos. The suspect confessed to possessing the explicit videos and told detectives how he obtained the videos and where he downloaded and saved the videos.
During the interview, the suspect stated he worked as an overnight counselor at a youth camp for diabetic children in the Santa Cruz mountains in 2018 and 2019. The suspect denied engaging in sexual behavior with any children at the camp.
