County Beach Emergency and Evacuation Testing today April 29, 2021 between 3pm and 5pm. 
The County Department of Beaches and Harbors will be conducting the first official test of the Beach Emergency and Evacuation Lights System (BEELS) at Torrance beach. Although it is not in the City of Manhattan Beach, residents may hear or see it. In the future, the system could be installed at other county beaches.
The test is scheduled for between 3 and 5 pm. The test includes flashing white LED lights mounted on free-standing structures and lifeguard towers. It will also include an audible siren and evacuation announcement in both English and Spanish.
