ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED
On Friday, April 23, 2021, at approximately 3:13 am, a masked, Hispanic male adult robbed a Turlock convenience store located in the 1600 block of West Main Street. Witnesses who were contacted at the scene reported to Officers that the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.
After obtaining cash from the clerk, the male suspect fled the business to a waiting silver sedan, which was parked nearby. As the sedan fled the business and merged onto West Main Street, toward Highway 99, it collided with an uninvolved motorist. The sedan continued on and entered northbound Highway 99, leaving its front bumper and license plate behind. The other motorist also fled the scene.
The sedan was located several hours later in Modesto, and stopped by Deputies from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office around 6:20 am. Turlock Police Detectives responded to the stop location and recovered the vehicle as evidence in the investigation. The female driving the sedan at the time had been transported to a local area hospital for unrelated medical reasons associated to the collision. She was later interviewed by Detectives.
Turlock Police Detectives and the Turlock Police Crime Analyst worked on this investigation and were able to obtain a positive identification of the suspect, Enrique Aaron Reyes, 32 years old, resident of Turlock. A judge authorized a Ramey warrant based on this investigation.
On Thursday, April 29, 2021, at approximately 11:38 am, Turlock Police Detectives and Stanislaus County Probation Officers served a search warrant at a location where Reyes was believed to be residing, located in the 1300 block of North Golden State Boulevard. Reyes was located and arrested during the service of the search warrant. He was later booked at the Stanislaus County Jail on the Ramey warrant for robbery and a probation revocation charge. A booking photograph is not yet available.
