One subject hurt in a single Vehicle Traffic Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputy's of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single car personal injury traffic crash on Middle Crossing Road east of California road in Cass County's Silver Creek Township. The crash occurred on 04/29/2021 at approximately 5:08 P.M.  The investigation of the crash showed that a truck, driven by Timothy McDaniel ( 60 years old of Dowagiac Michigan) was traveling east bound on Middle Crossing road when his vehicle ran off he roadway at which point he had lost control of the vehicle and struck a large tree. McDaniel was transported by ambulance to Lakeland St. Joseph Hospital for injuries he sustained in the traffic crash. Passenger Albert Hurrle Jr (50 years old of Dowagaic, MI) was not seriously injured in the traffic crash. Seat belts were worn by both driver and a passenger.

Alcohol/Drugs was not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

Cass County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Dowagiac Police Department, Indian Lake Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance.
