ATV/Dirt Bikes Lead SHERIFF VICTOR HILL On High Speed Chase Resulting In Two Arrests.
Yesterday, while out on patrol north bound on Tara Blvd, Sheriff Victor Hill observed four ATV vehicles going south bound driving erratically in the roadway. The Sheriff turned around and began following them observing that there were no tags on the vehicles. Unaware of who was behind them, the four ATVs continued to drive erratically while the Sheriff radioed in for assistance.
Once Deputies caught up with the Sheriff, he attempted to stop the ATVs by activating his blue lights. All four of the suspects on the ATVs refused to stop and began fleeing. The Sheriff and his Deputies pursued the ATVs down Tara Blvd southbound and then down Tara Rd westbound where the ATVs began to split up. The suspect that the Sheriff pursued went into a subdivision and abandoned his ATV fleeing through a back yard. This ATV had a vehicle identification number that was not registered in the system possibly indicating that it could be stolen.
After securing the ATV, Sheriff Victor Hill and his deputies went to a location in Hunters Ridge mobile home park where they received information that the other 3 suspects possibly fled too. Upon arrival, a man identified as Okevious Regan was working on a four wheeler which had the vehicle identification number removed from it. While Deputies spoke to Regan, Sheriff Hill observed a man who fit the hair description of one of the suspects that he chased on Tara Blvd. While talking to the suspect about his whereabouts and asking for identification, the man reached into a nap sack causing his white shirt to rise slightly revealing the butt of a firearm tucked in his pants near his right hip that was concealed. The man identified as Merico Ogburn did not have a concealed weapons permit and was taken into custody. Ogburn was also in possession of a large sum of cash.
Regan was also taken into custody and the ATV that was in his possession that the vehicle identification numbers removed from it was seized. Reagan was also found in possession of illegal edibles.
The Sheriff has ordered his Criminal Investigation Division to look into the origin of the two recovered ATVs. The Sheriff has also stated that he has plans to make disorderly ATV riders think twice about bringing this type of nonsense to Clayton County.
Meanwhile, Regan and Ogburn are now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail better known as “The Hill-ton”
