Revised Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order

The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health updated the Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order, effective Friday, April 30, 2021.

Below are the updates to the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Order:

1.      In alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s April 27, 2021, Interim Public Health Recommendations for fully vaccinated people, except in crowded settings and venues, fully vaccinated people may gather or conduct activities outdoors without wearing a mask when alone, when with members of their household, when with a small group of fully vaccinated and not at high risk for severe illness or death from COVID-19. Fully vaccinated people must continue to wear a mask during the following activities:

a.       At crowded outdoor events, among others,

b.      In crowded spaces where physical distancing cannot be maintained and it is not known if everyone is the space is fully vaccinated,

c.       In indoor public gatherings,

d.      At worksites and businesses, and

e.       In any setting where masking is required by the facility operator or business.

2.      Active entertainment, such as arcades, batting cages, indoor playgrounds (bounce center/ball pits/later tag), and escape rooms are limited to 25% capacity.

3.      Obtaining in-person behavioral health (mental health and substance use) therapeutic and educations support groups may reopen to typical participant levels provided that social (physical) distancing is practiced.

We take this pandemic very seriously and send our deepest sympathies to those whose lives have been affected by this pandemic. Residents, business owners, and employees must continue to observe physical distancing requirements and prevention techniques outlined in the Order. Failure to comply with these provisions constitutes a threat to public health and is a crime and punishable by a citation, civil penalty, injunction, fine, or imprisonment.
