Felipe DeJesus Aguirrecordero was arrested and booked into WVDC for grand theft

SUSPECT(S): Felipe DeJesus Aguirrecordero, 48-year-old resident of El Monte
VICTIM(S): Female resident of La Puente
SUMMARY: On Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 1:27 pm, Sheriff Service Specialist Courtney Rodriguez with the Apple Valley Police Department received a report of a stolen miniature Yorkshire Terrier.
The victim was at a celebration of life when her miniature Yorkshire Terrier named Max went missing. The suspect, later identified as Felipe DeJesus Aguirrecordero, attended the celebration and asked the victim if he could buy Max. A few days later, the victim learned Aguirrecordero had recently given his daughter a miniature Yorkie.
Detective Dutra authored a search, and on Thursday, April 29, 2021, detectives from the Apple Valley Police Department served the warrant at Aguirrecordero's El Monte residence. During the search, Max was found in a bedroom and reunited with his family a short time later.
Aguirrecordero was arrested and booked into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of grand theft and is currently out on bail.
