Town Roadway Veg Project update. Trees larger than 24" and those in the Sierra Meadows Median Islands will stay. 
The project scope has been revised and now includes removal of all vegetation within 10 feet of roadways except for ground cover vegetation less than 18 inches in height, trees larger than 24 inches in diameter at breast height (limbed to 15 feet), and vegetation within the median islands in the Sierra Meadows neighborhood.

TRUCKEE FIRE'S WILDFIRE PREVENTION TAX MEASURE will go to voters in August. This measure is NOT related to the current Town Roadway Vegetation project, but if 2/3's of voters approve the $179 tax it will raise over $3 mil annually for local wildfire prevention work in the Fire District like removing dry brush, dead trees and fire hazards, supporting defensible space work and providing property owners with easy and inexpensive green waste disposal options.
