FREE SMOKE ALARM & INSTALLATION coming to Montebello residents living south of Whittier and east of Garfield on May 8, 2021.
Red Cross volunteers, in coordination with the Montebello Fire Department and Recreation and Community Service volunteers, are bringing Sound the Alarm to south-side homes in Montebello. We will be canvassing the neighborhoods, educating residents about home fire safety, and helping families create escape plans. Our goal is to install free smoke detectors in 100 homes to increase resident safety and cut the risk of death due to fire by half. Having an escape plan further improves your ability to survive.
