On 5-5-2021 at 5:10 a.m., Sunnyvale DPS Patrol and Fire personnel responded to the intersection of Maude Ave. and Borregas Ave. on the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a single vehicle. An adult male subject was located within the intersection with major injuries. Life saving measures were initiated. The pedestrian was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The involved driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
At this time, it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision. The collision remains under investigation by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
