Revised Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order

Effective, May 6, 2021, the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health updated the Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order to align with the Yellow Tier safety modifications of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

Below are the updates to the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Order:

1.      Fitness facilities, including private gymnasiums and dance floors, may open for outdoor and limited capacity indoor operations. The indoor occupancy at gyms and fitness facilities is limited to 50%.

2.      The indoor portions of museums may open to the public at 75% occupancy.

3.      Indoor dining operations are permitted at 50% capacity in compliance with the protocol for restaurants.

4.      Cardrooms, satellite wagering facilities, and racetrack onsite waging facilities may open for indoor and outdoor operations. Indoor occupancy is limited to 50% of maximum indoor capacity.

5.      Family entertainment centers; miniature golf, batting cages, and go cart racing ay open for indoor operations and is limited to 50% of maximum indoor capacity.

6.      All family entertainment restaurants are limited to 50% indoor capacity.

7.      Movie theaters may remain open and each separate screening room is limited to 50% capacity.

8.      Wineries, breweries, and craft distilleries may operate indoors at 50% of maximum capacity, or 200 people, which is fewer. Bars may be open for outdoor and indoor operations with modification in compliance with current protocols. Bars may operate at a maximum indoor capacity of 25% or 100 people, which is fewer.

9.      Amusement parks, theme parks and fairs can reopen to the public at maximum occupancy of 35%, and restaurants at these locations may limit their indoor dining to 35% occupancy.

10.  Outdoor seated live events and performances can reopen to the public at a maximum of 67% maximum occupancy.

11.  Water parks can reopen at a maximum outdoor occupancy of 40% of maximum park capacity. For indoor attractions, pools or rides, the indoor occupancy is limited to 25% and their indoor restaurants is limited to 40% of maximum occupancy.

12.  Community sporting events including runs, walks, marathons, triathlons may reopen to the public at a maximum of 500 participants per hours and a total of 1,500 participants.
