Full Notification

In cooperation with the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and IDOT, Route 47 will be closed just north of Main Street at the railroad tracks for maintenance work. The UPRR and IDOT have informed the Village that the road closure will be on Wednesday, 5/12/2021 from approximately 8 am to 5 pm. Normal traffic flow is anticipated to resume after the work is finished at approximately 5 pm. While the full closure will begin at approximately 9 am, the area preparation will begin beforehand. To avoid traffic issues it is suggested that alternative routes be taken beginning at 8 am.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Main Street will remain open to vehicular traffic during the road closure. However, an alternate route is encouraged during this time period. Please note, trucks will need to follow the detour signs and no trucks will be allowed on Main Street through the downtown area except for local deliveries.

Alternative routes for local residents also include:
Northbound:
- Kreutzer Road (east) to Haligus Road (north) to Algonquin Road (west) to return to Route 47 (north).

Southbound: 
- Algonquin Road (east) to Haligus Road (south) to Kreutzer Road (west) to Route 47 (south).
