Crime Alert Bulletin for the weeks of April 19-May 2, 2021

**This bulletin covers two weeks of information**

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Notable Cases

On Tuesday, 04-20-21 at approximately 3:41 a.m., a 35-year old Daly City resident was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, failure to obey a police officer and for a parole hold. This occurred on the 7200 block of Mission Street. The subject had fled from officers on two separate occasions that morning.

On Tuesday, 04-20-21 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Officer Cain and Officer Smith were dispatched to the area of Victoria Street and Gellert Boulevard on a report of a male adult walking into the roadway and yelling. The officers contacted the subject and observed him to be extremely unstable on his feet and too intoxicated to care for himself. The officers spoke with a family member who didn’t feel comfortable in taking in the subject to sleep off his intoxication. Therefore, the officers booked the 47-year old Daly City resident into the San Mateo County jail.

On Saturday, 04-24-21 at 9:47 a.m., Officer Jackson-Berrios was dispatched to the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Mission Street on a report of a male who was wearing no shirt and throwing rocks at passing vehicles. When Officer Jackson-Berrios contacted the subject, she said the subject began grabbing small decorative rocks and placing them on a sweatshirt on the ground. The subject mumbled unintelligibly and started to walk away from the officer. The subject exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and admitted to the officer that he had used crystal methamphetamine earlier in the day. The officer arrested the 24-year old transient subject for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

On Saturday, 04-24-21 at 11:16 p.m., Officer Greene and Officer Tualaulelei were dispatched to the Westlake Shopping Center near the Nation’s restaurant on a report of a subject who appeared to be under the influence and walking in and out of traffic. The officers contacted the subject who was rummaging through items he had stored in a shopping cart. They observed he was showing signs of being under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. Prior to conducting tests to determine if the subject was under the influence, Officer Tualaulelei did a pat search of the subject, and he found a collapsible baton in the subject’s jacket pocket. The subject, 29-year old San Mateo resident, failed the sobriety tests, and the officers arrested him for possession of a baton, possession of narcotics (Fentanyl), being under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Sunday, 04-25-21 at 8:18 p.m., Officer Premenko was dispatched to the Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near the Target store on a report of a female who was passed out in her car. Officer Premenko said the female got out of her car and was not wearing any pants when she approached his vehicle. The female had an unsteady gait, had the smell of alcohol emitting from her person and was asking where she was. The officer told the female to get into her car to put her pants on, and the female refused, and tried to drive away from the officer. The female kicked the officer, and Officer Premenko arrested her for driving under the influence and for resisting arrest. The female fought the staff at both the hospital and the jail. In addition, a complaint will be sought against the 21-year old Livermore resident for two more counts of battery on a police officer.

On Thursday, 04-29-21 at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers arrested a 33-year old San Francisco resident for driving under the influence of alcohol. This occurred following a call for service of a subject passed out inside his vehicle at the intersection of John Daly Boulevard and Poncetta Drive.

On Thursday, 04-29-21 at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1100 block of South Mayfair Avenue on a report of a man ringing the doorbell, demanding to be let into the residence. The subject, a 54-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for public intoxication.

Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
