Member Of SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S Elite Fugitive Squad Thwarts Kidnapping Attempt And Captures Suspect!
Yesterday morning, a member of Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite Fugitive Squad was on his way to work when he stopped at the QT on Tara Blvd and Hwy 54 to pick up snacks. While inside, a female patron frantically ran inside screaming for help. The Fugitive Investigator approached the female to investigate her distress. She told him that a man was inside her car with a gun and she was being held against her will.
The Fugitive member call in the incident and a Jonesboro Officer responded immediately to help him approach the vehicle.
When they both approached the vehicle to confront the suspect, identified as Labarece Hayes, Hayes attempted reach for his gun. Hayes was put at gunpoint by both deputies so fast that it convinced Hayes that this was a gunfight that he would lose. Hayes was removed from the vehicle and placed into custody without further incident.
Once Hayes was in custody, the victim of the incident told law-enforcement that she met Hayes two weeks ago at a local club. Over the course of the two weeks, they only went out on one date. The victim stated that Hayes arrived at her residence unannounced last night with his belongings and stated he was moving in. When she asked him to leave he pulled the gun on her refusing to leave and held her against her will until she was rescued by law-enforcement.
In addition o recovering a Smith and Wesson 40 cal. Handgun, the Fugitive Investigator found 8.95 oz of marijuana and 20.3 grams of crack cocaine in Hayes possession.
Hayes is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail now better known to all as “The Hill-ton.
