Hanover Park PD advises you to AVOID eastbound Lake St between Walnut Ave. & Center Ave due to traffic congestion. Eastbound Lake St. is reduced to 1-lane causing significant traffic delays.
Alternate eastbound routes:
-Irving Park Rd.
-Greenbrook Blvd./Stearns Rd.
-Schick Rd.
Eastbound Lake St between Walnut Ave & Center Ave reduced to 1-lane due to new sidewalk construction.
Construction Information:
Work will begin on a new sidewalk along the southside of Lake Street from the Hanover Park Village Hall to Walnut Avenue. It also includes improvements to the intersection of Lake and Walnut to make it more pedestrian friendly. This is the intersection at the entrance to Fresh Express.
The project is scheduled to start May 3rd and will be substantially complete around the end of May, weather dependent. Please be aware there may be occasional traffic delays related to the project.
This is a grant funded project in cooperation between the Village of Hanover Park and the Village of Streamwood.
