Anchorage and Eagle River Wood Lots Open

The Anchorage Wood Lot and the Eagle River Wood Lot at the Anchorage Regional Land Fill are open for the season now.

Anchorage Wood Lot
The Anchorage Wood Lot is located at 100th & C Street. Hours of operation for the rest of the summer are:

  • Thursday – Saturday (10am to 5pm)
  • Sunday (Noon to 5pm)
The following fees apply:
  • $20 for standard pick-up loads (up to 5 cu yards)
  • $30 for large trucks, trailers (5-10 cu yards)
  • $5/cu yard for material over 10 cu yards
  • $5/tree stump 10" or larger in diameter
The wood lot is operated by Alaska Land Clearing Contractors. Their contact information is below: To maintain the integrity of the operating surface the wood lot may close during periods of heavy rainfall.
Eagle River Wood Lot
The Eagle River Wood Lot is operated by Solid Waste Services and is located at the Anchorage Regional Landfill, just off the Hiland Road exit off the Glenn Highway (15500 Eagle River Loop Road).

The Eagle River Wood Lot has the following operating hours and will close September 4th:
  • Friday – Saturday  (8am – 5pm)
The Eagle River Wood Lot does not charge for the disposal of tree and brush debris; wood must be separated from other trash.
Girdwood Wood Lot
The Girdwood Wood Lot is closed.

As a Reminder
Burn permits have not been available since 2017. Burning trash, yard debris, leaves, construction material, woody debris including Spruce Bark Beetle wood, is prohibited in the MOA. These materials must be disposed of through curbside trash removal or the wood lots.

When burning a recreational fire, be a good neighbor and consider how your fire affects your neighbors. Recreational burning that is offensive or objectionable because of smoke or odor emissions is prohibited by Fire Code. See the MOA Recreational Burn Guidelines (2019) for further information on recreational burning and always check the "Is Today a Burn Day" webpage prior to starting a recreational fire.
