Full Notification

 

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 05/14/2021 at 2141 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash involving a single vehicle. The crash occurred on Rudy Rd near Gage St in Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan. 

 

The driver of the car (Skylan Whitaker 20 year old Dowagiac, MI resident) was headed north bound on Rudy Rd when she lost control.  The car went off the road, overturned and came to rest against some trees.  Skylan and passenger ( Keila Crocker 19 year old South Bend, IN resident) were able to get out of the car. They both were transported to the Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. 

 

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this crash and seat belts were worn. 

 

Assisting agencies on scene were Wayne Township Fire Department, Pridecare Ambulance and Pokagon Tribal Police.
