On Sunday, May 16, 2021 at approximately 1354 hours, the Readington Township Police were dispatched to Rt. 31 north for a report of a single car motor vehicle accident. Ptl. Bodine arrived on scene and smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver Janel Bodner from Clinton, NJ. Bodner performed several field sobriety tests for Ptl. Bodine and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Bodner was issued a  motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated, Careles Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guility in a court of law.
