Rialto, Calif. – The Rialto Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, May 15th in the 800 block of W. Baseline Rd. During this checkpoint, the Rialto Police Department, along with (4) deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, made a total of (7) arrests and issued (40) citations.
Of the (7) arrests, (5) drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, (1) driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, and (1) driver was arrested for felony possession and transportation of drugs. Of the (39) citations issued, (30) drivers were cited for being unlicensed and (9) were cited for driving under a suspended/revoked driver’s license. Those (39) driver’s license violations resulted in the impounding of (7) vehicles.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is to promote public safety and deter drivers from operating motor vehicles impaired. The Rialto Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe.
The Rialto Police Department will hold another DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday, June 11, 2021.
