Suspects Arrested for Possession of Stolen Vehicle and Stolen Firearm
On Thursday, May 20, 2021, at approximately 4:42 PM, Sausalito Police Officers were notified by Marin County Dispatch that the Automated License Plate Reading (ALPR) cameras at Rodeo Drive had registered a stolen license plate entering the City of Sausalito. The stolen plate returned to a silver Infinity SUV stolen on May 11, 2021 out of Eureka, CA from Enterprise Rental. It was reported that the female who rented the vehicle used a fake identification.
Officers immediate began to check the area. Shortly after receiving the notification, Detective Davin Rose observed the stolen vehicle driving southbound on 700 block of Bridgeway. Officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle and were able to detain the two occupants without further incident.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was identified as Brandy Rudder, a 41 year-old female out of Buckley, Washington. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Nicholas Thomas Riippi, a 42 year-old male out of Tacoma, Washington.
During a search of the vehicle officers located a loaded firearm in the glove box. The firearm returned stolen out of Lincoln City, Oregon as of April 10, 2021.
Brandy Rudder was placed under arrest for possession of the stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen and loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen ID cards and multiple stolen credit cards. Rudder also had an outstanding warrant out of Clackamas County, Washington for $50,000. Nicholas Riippi was arrested for possession of the stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen and loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen ID cards and multiple stolen credit cards. Rudder and Riippi were booked into the Marin County Jail for the listed charges.
