Flash Flood Watch until 07:00PM Tuesday

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of south central Texas and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Austin, Brazoria Islands, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Harris, Coastal Matagorda, Colorado, Fort Bend, Inland Brazoria, Inland Harris, Inland Matagorda, Matagorda Islands, Montgomery, Waller, Washington and Wharton.

* Through Tuesday evening

* Another strong upper level disturbance will approach Southeast Texas on Tuesday. There will be a respite in the rainfall later tonight but rain will return Tuesday morning and will become briefly heavy at times. Parts of Austin county received between 9 and 12 inches of rain this evening and parts of Harris County received between 4 and 7 inches of rain earlier in the day. Soils are extremely saturated and rivers are swollen and many are still above flood stage. It won't take much additional rainfall to produce flooding.
