The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a
* Flood Warning for... Pope County in central Arkansas... Northwestern Cleburne County in north central Arkansas... Searcy County in north central Arkansas... Van Buren County in north central Arkansas...
* Until 645 AM CDT Wednesday.
* At 1244 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
* Numerous creeks and rivers within the warned area have risen to high levels with many low water crossings and roads impassable. Rain will begin to taper off through the early morning hours but some waterways will continue to rise or remain high this morning.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Russellville, Clinton, Fairfield Bay, Marshall, Dardanelle, Atkins, Pottsville, Dover, London, Hector, Shirley, Dabney, Smyrna, Solo, Witts Spring, Woolum, Imo, Bohannon, Kay and Rocky Hill.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CLEBURNE, AR ... POPE, AR ... SEARCY, AR ... VAN BUREN, AR
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
