Full Notification

On 05/25/21 at 2:00 p.m. an attempted ruse burglary occurred in the area of the 300 block of Ridgemoor Drive.  In this incident two unknown males wearing face coverings, sunglasses and high visibility shirt/vests approached a home, contacting the victim and advised they were from the water department.  These subjects were turned away from the home and left the area in a dark colored pick-up truck.

Please remember to always verify the identity of any workers who come to your home without an appointment. All legitimate workers should have credentials with them to verify their names and employment. You can call their employer’s listed phone number to verify their employment and their purpose at your residence.  Village of Wiollowbrook personnel do not approach residences without an appointment or initial contact by a resident.  Also, Village of Willowbrook workers drive vehicles with the easily identifiable Village of Willowbrook insignia on them. If you are suspicious of a worker’s legitimacy, you should contact the Willowbrook Police Department immediately for assistance. We continue to ask residents to call in ANY suspicious persons, activities, vehicles, and incidents.
