Controlled Burns in Novato Today 5/27 & Tomorrow 5/28

The Marin County Fire Department has several controlled burns scheduled for 5/27, 5/28 and June 23, 24, and 25. The controlled burns are part of the annual training regimen for seasonal firefighters and a way to reduce wildfire fuels.
Fuel Reduction efforts and seasonal firefighter training continue today along the northern slope of Big Rock Ridge, behind the neighborhoods of Vineyard Road, Wildhorse Valley, Marin Highlands, Indian Valley and the Country Club area of Ignacio. Visual Smoke and Smell of smoke will be prevalent from 10:00 am to 4 p.m. on burn days.
