Specialized Detectives are conducting an in custody death investigation in Yucaipa 
DATE/TIME: Thursday, May 27, 2021 12:02 a.m.
INCIDENT: Residential Robbery / In Custody Death Investigation
LOCATION: 12500 block of 4th Street, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Adult male, name withheld pending next of kin notification
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 12:02 a.m. deputies responded to a call that a suspect forced entry to the victim’s home and the homeowner had him detained. Deputies arrived and the suspect appeared to be suffering a medical emergency. Medical aid transported the suspect to Redlands Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Specialized Investigations Division responded to conduct the investigation.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
