Transient Encampment Shooting

Suspect:  Unknown male with shoulder length hair

On Monday, May 31st, 2021, at approximately 10:55 PM, Redwood City Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Buckeye Street on a report of multiple gunshots heard in the area.   Officers canvassed the area and did not locate any victims or evidence.  While conducting the neighborhood canvass, officers were dispatched to Target, located at 2485 El Camino Real, on a report of a male with a gunshot wound to his arm.  Officers developed information that an unknown suspect fired multiple shots into a transient encampment, striking the victim in the arm, on Shasta Street underneath Woodside Road.   Fourteen 9mm spent casings were located and collected at the scene.  The victim was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
