Princeton man arrested for driving while a habitual traffic violator.
On May 27, 2021, at 4:34 p.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on Silver Pontiac G6 for a traffic violation. Upon conducting the stop near Broadway and Hart Street in Princeton Deputy Smith identified the driver as 30-year-old Kory Helm of Princeton. During a roadside investigation Deputy Smith ran Mr. Helm through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and discovered that Mr. Helm was operating his vehicle while a Habitual Traffic Violator. At that point Deputy Smith placed Mr. Helm into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Driving While a Habitual Traffic Violator. He has since posted a $750 bond.
Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation were Sgt. Steve McNeece, Officer Matt Perry, and Officer Craig Zurliene of the Princeton Police Department.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
