3:22 PM: Officer Fredstrom responded to a report of a disturbance in progress in the 36000 block of Cherry St. Upon arrival Officer Fredstrom made contact and arrested a 31-year old male out of Newark for possession of a concealed firearm on a person. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

1:38 AM: Officer Slavazza and Officer Soto responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5000 block of Lake Blvd. Upon arrival, officers made contact and arrested a 25-year female out of San Jose for being too inebriated to care for herself or others. She was booked at Fremont Jail.
2:52 AM: Officer Slavazza and Officer Soto investigated a report of a disturbance in the 38000 block of Birch St. Officers made contact and arrested a 25-year old male out of Newark for an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

7:25 AM: Officer Kapu responded to investigate a cold burglary of a storage container in the 8000 block of Enterprise Drive. The theft occurred sometime overnight. Loss was approximately $4,000 worth of tools.
 
9:34 AM: Officer Palacio responded to investigate a cold theft in the 35000 block of Lundy Dr. The theft occurred sometime overnight. Loss was wheels and tires.
 
11:44 AM: Officer Palacio responded to investigate a burglary to a vehicle that had just occurred in the 35000 block of Newark Blvd. Unknown suspect(s) entered via window smash. Loss was $390 cash and damage to the vehicle tires.
 
2:34 PM: Officer Swadener responded to investigate a theft of a vehicle in the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. The theft had occurred 5 – 10 min prior to the time of call. Victim vehicle was a 1991 Honda Civic. On 5/5/2021 the vehicle was recovered in Fremont.
 
3:50 PM: Officer Palacio responded to investigate the theft of a catalytic convertor in the 36000 block of Colbert St. The theft occurred within the last 10 days.

3:09 PM: While conducting routine patrol in the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Ave, Officer McCuin observed a subject looking through an unlocked vehicle. Officer McCuin made contact and arrested a 38-year old female out of Pacifica for possession of a controlled substance. She was cited and released.
 
10:01 PM: Officer Riddles conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Edgewater Dr and Scarborough Dr. Officer Riddles made contact and arrested a 50-year old male out of Sausalito for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.

10:20 AM: Officer Hernandez made contact and arrested 31-year old male in the area of Wintergreen Dr and Moores Ave for driving with a suspended license, restricted driver using a vehicle without interlock device, multiple outstanding warrants, and identity theft materials. He was booked at Fremont Jail. His vehicle was towed.
 
11:01 AM: Officer Damewood made contact and arrested a 39-year old male out of South San Francisco in the area of Olive St and Albyn Court for unlawful possession of tear gas and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.
 
7:33 – 8:30 PM: Officer Riddles investigated three burglaries to vehicles throughout Newark. Unknown suspect(s) entered via window smash. Loss was a laptop, three backpacks and clothing respectively.

12:59 AM: While patrolling in the north end of Newark, Officer Kapu on-viewed a 20-year old male out of Newark in the act of lighting illegal fireworks. Officer Kapu made contact and seized the remaining illegal aerial fireworks. Officer Kapu forwarded the case to the District Attorney for complaint.
 
5:35 AM: Officer Jackman investigated the overnight theft of a catalytic converter, from a 2016 Nissan, in the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard.
 
7:36 Hours: Newark Police Officers responded to an alarm call in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd  Upon arrival, officers discovered the rear door was pried open and left ajar. There is no loss at this time. Case investigated by Officer McCuin. 
 
8:11 AM: Officer Quinonez investigated the overnight theft of a vehicle in the 37000 block of Sycamore St. Victim vehicle was a 2006 Mercedes-Benz 350 series. On 5/11/2021 the vehicle was recovered in Hayward.

7:52 PM: Officer Swadener investigated a battery that occurred in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Upon arrival Officer Swadener located the suspect in the area. Officer Swadener made contact and arrested a 28-year old female out of Hayward for battery and an outstanding warrant. She was booked at Fremont Jail.

11:01 PM: Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a prowler jumping fences in the 37000 block of Walnut St. Officers quickly within 3 minutes of the call and set-up containment on the residence in question. The subject jumped another fence where officers were waiting for him. After contacting the subject, a 39-year old male out of Newark, the elements of prowling were not met but the subject did have an outstanding warrant that he was ultimately arrested for. He was cited and released.

12:28 AM: Officer Slavazza and Officer Soto conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Buckeye St and Mayhews Landing Rd. Officers made contact and arrested a 37-year old male for an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Fremont Jail.
1:13 AM: Officer Riddles responded to a report of a traffic collision in the 6000 block of Thornton Ave. Upon arrival Officer Riddles made contact and arrested a 24-year old male for DUI. He was booked at Fremont Jail.
3:14 AM: Officer Slavazza and Officer Soto conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 5000 block of Central Ave. Officers made contact and arrested a 32-year old male out of Newark for possession of burglary tools, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving with a license suspended for Dui and restricted driver using a vehicle without an interlock device. The vehicle was towed. The subject was cited and released.
6:21 PM: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the area of Wells Ave and Ash St. Officers made contact and arrested a 46-year old male for driving with a suspended license and restricted driver using a vehicle without an interlock device. He was cited and released.

12:56 AM: Officers responded to a report of trespassing in progress in the 7000 block of Mowry Ave. Upon arrival officers made contact with a 47-year old male. He was arrested for unlawful entry upon lands and an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Fremont Jail.
 
8:05 AM: Officer Kapu investigated a burglary to a vehicle and a garage in the 6000 block of Grasshopper Ave. The theft occurred sometime overnight. Loss was shoes, a printer, and documents.
 
8:38 AM: Officer Damewood investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave. Loss is unknown at this time.
 
9:19 AM: Officer Kapu investigated the vandalism to two vehicles in the 6000 block of Escallonia Dr. The vandalism occurred sometime overnight.
 
11:41 AM: Officer Losier investigated a theft of a motor vehicle in the 5000 block of Overlake Pl. Theft occurred sometime between 04/26 and time of call.
 
2:37 PM: Officer Damewood investigated the theft of a catalytic convertor in the 38000 block of Luma Terrace. The theft occurred between 05/06 and time of call. The victim vehicle was a 2011 Volkswagen.
 
3:41 PM:  Officer Damewood made contact and arrested a 58-year old male out of Newark in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.
 
4:21 PM: Officer Knutson investigated the theft of a license plate from a vehicle in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. The theft occurred sometime between 05/01 and 05/02.
 
4:35 PM: Officer Kapu investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 3000 block of NewPark Mall Road. The theft occurred within the past 2 hours. The loss was a laptop and business supplies.
 
7:35 PM: Officer San Pedro investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Potrero Dr. Loss is unknown at this time.

7:34 PM: Officer Cervantes conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Thornton Ave and Cedar Blvd. Officer Cervantes made contact and arrested a 49-year old male out of Oakland for two outstanding warrants. He was booked at Fremont Jail.
11:33 PM: Officer Damewood conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Cedar Blvd and Roberston Ave. Officer Damewood made contact and arrested a 39-year old male and a 41-year old male out of Oakland for outstanding warrants and possession of identification with intent to defraud. They were both booked at Santa Rita Jail.

8:21 AM: Officer Hernandez was dispatched to the area of Walnut Street and Wells Ave to investigate a report of a suspicious activity. Officer Hernandez made contact and arrested a 39-year old male out of Newark for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.
6:47 PM: Officer Damewood conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 7000 block of Thornton Ave. Officer Damewood made contact and arrested a 45-year old male out of Newark for possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of identity theft materials to obtain credit. He was cited and released.
9:53 PM: Officer Kapu investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in the 3000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Loss was a laptop.
 
10:16 PM: Sergeant Warren on-viewed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and unable to safely maintain the driving lane. The sergeant believed the driver may be driving impaired thus a short pursuit was initiated. Sergeant Warren made contact and arrested a 22-year old female out of Oakland without further incident. She was ultimately arrested for evading a peace officer and an outstanding warrant. She was booked at Fremont Jail.
 
10:45 PM: Officer Kapu investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave. Loss was a laptop, passport, and BOSE brand headphones.

12:00 AM: Officer Riddles responded to a report of possible illegal garbage dumping in the area of Stevenson Boulevard and the Railroad Tracks. Officer Riddles made contact and arrested a 38-year old male out of Fremont for possession of burglary tools, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
 
Saturday, May 15, 2021
8:49 AM: Officers responded to a report of a subject in the 5000 block of Stevenson with a gun in their hand. A high-risk pedestrian stop was conducted and the subject, 29-year old female, complied with officer’s commands and was safely taken into custody without incident. Upon further inspection, the handgun was determined to be a squirt gun that had been spray painted black. It was taken for safekeeping.
8:10 PM: Officers responded to the 6000 block of Lafayette for a report of an unknown subject in a resident’s yard asking for help. Upon arrival, Officer Swadener made contact and arrested a 46-year old male for a multiple outstanding warrants. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
