The trash non-collection issues with our vendor, Seaside Waste, have reached a crisis point. After several months of collection issues due to COVID and then trash collector staffing shortages, we mobilized Borough manpower to pick up yard waste on weekends, which was least prioritized by Seaside.  Starting Monday, we will implement Borough pickup to ensure that waste is collected in Collingswood.

We are sourcing trucks and mobilizing Borough manpower to provide service. We also have our municipal team working all weekend to catch up on what was left behind by Seaside this week.

Starting next week, we will advertise positions for seasonal workers at $18hr to help man Collingswood’s new “trash department” during this period. For those interested in those positions, look for application information on Collingswood.com on Monday.

For now, please continue to report non-pickup by using the Report an Issue button or emailing [email protected]. Leave your waste out so we can run all routes with the goal of being back on track and ready to collect Monday’s waste, on Monday, with our own staff and this new plan.

As we implement a completely new department, there may be some lags and missteps, but our goal is to provide more reliable service than trash vendors can during this nationwide staffing crisis. Please be patient and communicative with the Borough team as we launch this solution.
