An evacuation exercise is underway on Fitch Mountain
There is currently an evacuation exercise underway on Fitch Mountain. During this exercise, you may see emergency vehicles with lights and sirens activated, and you may hear Hi-Lo sirens. THIS IS ONLY AN EXERCISE, and there is no threat to your safety.
The coordinated evacuation drill is being conducted by the County of Sonoma, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Healdsburg, community groups and fire agencies. The exercise is part of a community-wide effort to prepare for wildfires and other potential disasters.
This exercise will provide public safety departments an opportunity to practice alerting an area using the Hi-Lo sirens and to further test the County’s alerting system. Residents will have the opportunity to review the process of evacuating their homes and leaving their neighborhoods.
