Suspect:  Monroy, Daniel 18-year old male (In-custody)

On Monday, June7^th, 2021, at approximately 7:01 AM Redwood City Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Willow Street and Spring Street for several vehicle code violations.  The driver and passenger were contacted at the scene.  The passenger, identified as Daniel Monroy, displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance.  During the contact, Monroy was searched, and officers located a Smith & Wesson .32 caliber revolver containing two live rounds in the cylinder, on his person.  The firearm was later determined to be stolen.  Monroy was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a dirk or dagger, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
