The National Weather Service in State College has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... East Central Cumberland County in south central Pennsylvania... Northwestern York County in south central Pennsylvania...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 535 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.

* Minor flooding of poor drainage areas and streets. Small streams may also overflow their banks.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Carlisle, Lower Allen, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, New Cumberland, Lemoyne, Schlusser, Valley Green, Boiling Springs, Manchester, Emigsville, Dillsburg, Shiremanstown, Mount Wolf, New Kingstown, Siddonsburg, Goldsboro, York Haven, Lewisberry and Capital City Airport. Additional rainfall of an inch or more is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CUMBERLAND, PA ... YORK, PA

Instructions:

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
